Abstract

New PaaS technologies threaten multi-tenant shared data architecture. Renter resources, security, performance, and scalability are hard to balance. Compare schema-per-tenant, shared schema, and database-per-tenant data structures in multi-tenant PaaS. Research includes model security, scalability, and performance.

Protection of tenants. Tenants render this system unscalable, necessitating costly database and resource management. All tenants use the inexpensive, scalable common schema database. Databases with several tenants complicate separation. Row-level security and access control optimize shared schemas, while schema-per-tenant protects cross-tenant data.
